If you are a feature writer, magazine editor, or TV producer working on something associated with Galicia
We are frequently asked to help provide copy, comments, assistance with features and research information about all aspects of Galicia for the media. This we are happy to do in connection with the region's towns and cities, holiday planning, property buying etc.
We have however had our time wasted and our efforts un-credited on a number of occasions, so we must now insist on the following in all cases where our assistance and knowledge of Galicia is sought foc.
- You must contact us with a proper email address (i.e. not a freebee like hotmail, yahoo, etc). If you are a freelance journalist and you do not have a domain email, we will need some kind of proof that you are who you say you are and that the feature that you are working on is genuine.
- We need written confirmation that this website will be credited directly in the article or feature with the website’s name and full url (typically in a resource box at the end of the feature). If we are requested to offer quotes, then we expect a similar accreditation within the body of the feature for any comments of ours that are used.
- We expect a copy of the magazine containing the article or feature to which we have contributed to be sent to us as a common courtesy.
- In keeping with all journalists, any unique copy that we provide will be offered on a commercial basis (though probably considerably cheaper than that offered by a journalist “writing blind”.)
- In the case of programme making, you will need to contact us with the requirements that you have before we can commit to helping you.
We regret having to stipulate these requirements, but we have learned through experience that “good faith” and taking people at their word seems to count for little. We are however enthusiastic in supporting anything that positively promotes and showcases any aspect of Galicia.
We will legally pursue any individual or publisher plagiarising material included on this or any of our other websites.
