Galicia Guide - previous updates and forth coming features
Future plans
We will be in Galicia for most of July, following which the site will see another large influx of new town guides. We will also add further themed commercial content to assist vacationers planning to visit Galicia. The addition of villa rental properties and services will be one of our main objectives.
May and June 2006
A redesign of the site to accommodate commercial link buttons has now been completed. Galicia Guide now offers around 100 hotels, property services and the facility to book flights and car rental. A number of pages promoting the site to advertisers have also been added.
March 2006 up-dates
1. Changes and additional photos made/added to the Noia index page.
2. A repository of all galiciaguide.com articles added.
The site was mentioned in the BBC History Magazine publication for March 2006.
February 2006 up-dates
1. The first stage of the new Santiago de Compostela guide has been uploaded. It has 18 pages, 9000 words, over 50 photos and there is more to come.
January 2006 up-dates
1. The all new A Coruna guide which numbers 17 pages and over 50 new (and unique to galiciaguide.com) photos has been uploaded
2. The main entry page to the Spain section has been replaced.
3. Changes have been made to the index page including two new photos.
December 2005 up-dates
A new guide to Ferrol (in A Coruna province) has been added.
A one page guide/summary of Galicia's main tourist cities that links from the home page has been uploaded.
The new Ourense section has been provisionally uploaded, although some changes, additional photos and information will be added over the next week or two. It is 13 pages in length and has around 30 new photos.
A galiciaguide article about Santiago de Compostela is now on the Spanish mega site, spanish-living.com. This should is the first of several articles that galiciaguide will be supplying to spanish-living over the forth coming months.
November 2005 up-dates
Responding to a visitors request, we have added some Galician poetry within the Galicia Culture section. (20.11.2005).
Two additional gallery pages added to the Spanish language section (15.11.2005).
The 3 page Lugo section has now been updated with an all new 21 page guide with around 40 pics and detailed information about Lugo's old town, Roman wall, province, cathedral and much more. All the information is based on first hand experience and the photos, as always, are unique to galiciaguide.
Galicia News
The news archive is now updated a least once a week with events and information about Galicia and what is happening there.
October 2005 up-dates
The old 4 page Pontevedra guide has now been replaced with a completely new and detailed city guide comprising over 20 pages, almost 60 photos and 12 000 words of descriptive text. This section has individual pages dedicated to Pontevedra's major tourist attractions and offers extensive information on historic buildings, plazas and the provinces festivals. The depth of content and layout of this section will be duplicated for the other major city guides over the next two months.
A review of Noia's 2005 festival bands has been added to the Noia section.
The dot.com registration of galiciaguide.com has been secured for the next 10 years.
September 2005 up-dates
September saw the addition of over 50 new pages, most of which are in the Galician Towns section.
An update of the Galicia Spain area saw a number of long terms errors corrected and the addition of some new photographs.
Updates were added to the Noia section plus the first of several new pages describing Noia's August festival. The recommendations page has also been updated.
Our review of Ryan Air's service between Stanstead (England) and Santiago de Compostela have been ammended.
Long Term projects
The Galician Culture section will be updated and corrected. There is however no fixed time span on this project and we are trying to get some expert help to assist us.
We have accumulated a vast amount of information on Galicia's cuisine and will integrate this into the relevant menu area over time (2006).
