Hotels in Galicia (Spain)
Galicia is full of hotels and smaller guest houses and you will find the various classifications of hotel in Galicia that you would find elsewhere in Spain.
The greatest number and variety of Galician hotels are found in the main cities like Santiago de Compostela, la Coruna and Pontevedra. Santiago de Compostela in particular has a large number of international hotel chains, but also many smaller and more affordable hotels.
With their own airports (serviced by Ryanair and ClickAir), the cities of Santiago de Compostela, la Coruna and Vigo are the main tourist bases for visitors to Galicia. Other popular hotel bases include the cities of Pontevedra and Ourense, but most of the larger towns have several good Spanish hotels, plus smaller guest house style hotels.
When making a reservation, always check out the details of each hotel carefully and consider the arrival time of your plane and the options available to get you to your hotel and back. Some of Galicia's towns, whilst not remote, can be problematic to get to during certain times of the day and night, so consider this fact when making your plans. There is however a good bus system and a railway network that can also be used. Taxi costs are quite high in this part of Spain and it is not always possible to get a taxi early in the morning or late at night unless you pre-book.
